KATIE CASCHETTE

Founder, Medical Aesthetician, & Certified Laser Technician

During the 10+ years she spent as a Sales Director & Educator for a national beauty distributor, Katie saw the dramatic shift of luxury brands from prestige to masstige alongside the expansion of ecommerce. After the pandemic made the shift even more pronounced, Katie knew it was time to make a career change.

Following many years of battling highly reactive skin sensitivity, chronic pain, and fatigue, Katie received an official diagnosis for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). MCAS is a condition that causes daily episodes of the symptoms of anaphylaxis – severe itching, flushing, swelling of the skin, rashes, hives, easy bruising, eczema, dermatitis, slow healing of the skin, and overactions to bug bites or stings. Katie understands firsthand how frustrating, time-consuming, and costly different hair removal methods can be for individuals suffering from skin conditions or a compromised skin barrier.

A Colorado native, Katie’s career has taken her from New York to Kansas City to San Francisco. She returned to her hometown of Denver during the pandemic to launch her own business. Through her own creative process, Katie has been inspired by and continues to build her brand around the diverse needs of her customers, rather than following a generic business model that many national laser hair removal chains and med spas adhere to.

Katie wanted to build something from nothing without compromising her values or wavering from her authentic self. She is the proud Owner & Founder of NOVALUNE LASER.

Outside of work, Katie is a proud alumna of the University of Colorado at Boulder and a loyal CU football fan. She is a skincare junkie and fashion enthusiast. She has an affinity for classic cars and loves listening to jazz and blues. Her favorite musicians are Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra. Katie loves animals, Pilates, interior design, and true crime documentaries.

OUR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

Different methods of hair removal such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, and electrolysis are time-consuming and painful, as well as potentially irritating to the skin. In contrast, laser therapy offers a virtually painless and permanent method of removing hair anywhere on the body using the same laser technology that is often used to rejuvenate the skin.

The 808nm Diode Laser is the gold standard in permanent hair removal.

This procedure uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair. The light energy is converted to heat, damaging the follicles that produce hair. The Alpha 808nm Diode Laser is clinically proven and FDA approved, offering safe and effective treatments for all skin types with zero downtime. The fast and painless mode is more comfortable than ever and 3D-Pulse technology allows independent control over the energy, pulse duration, and crystal cooling temperature.
Remember, every client is beautifully unique with different skin-hair combinations, requiring different modes of operation.
The Alpha system was designed with 5 unique hair removal modes to offer the broadest range of treatment options. Only hair follicles in an active growth stage can be successfully targeted during laser hair removal treatment, requiring multiple sessions. Patients may require anywhere from 6 to 15 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Some determining factors for the number of sessions you may need include:

  • Skin tone: Although we can treat all skin tones safely, a greater contrast between the color of the skin and color of the hair yields the best outcome. Patients with darker skin tones may not achieve desired results due to similar coloration between hair and skin.
  • Hair Type and Color: Coarse, dark hair responds best. Patients with white, gray, red, blonde, or finer hair will likely not absorb enough light to be affected.
  • Incorrect Timing of Treatments: Rushing through treatments can leave areas untreated, causing the hair to grow back as usual. Too much time in between treatments also affects efficacy of laser hair removal.
  • Undiagnosed Hormonal Imbalances: For those suffering from excess hair growth on the face or body, especially women, the culprit could be a hormonal imbalance throwing off the hair growth cycle. Elevated male hormones like testosterone can overstimulate hair follicles.
  • Improper Preparation Before Treatment: Ensure skin is clean and free from lotions or creams. Tweezing, plucking, waxing, or depilatory creams are highly discouraged. Shaving is the only recommended method of hair removal before and during treatment, as it leaves the hair follicle intact.
  • Treatment Areas: Different body parts have different hair density, thickness, and growth cycles. Some areas may require more sessions or higher intensity settings than others.
  • Medications Promoting Hair Growth: Some common drugs that are implicated in extra hair growth include steroids, immunosuppressants, anticonvulsants, Minoxidil, and some birth control pills.
  • Outdated Laser Technology and/or Failure to Adhere to Annual Service Requirements.
